Cultural Treasure Lichtbild/Argento vivo
Collect – Preserve – Digitize – Present – Communicate
To strengthen the long-standing activities of TAP Lienz–Bruneck/Brunico, which has been operating in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano - South Tyrol since 2011, in terms of safeguarding and communicating the cultural treasure of historical photography and based on the results of the Interreg V project “Lichtbild/Argento vivo”, the “Association Tyrolean Archive of photographic documentation and art – Süd” was founded in December 2023 with its headquarters in Bruneck/Brunico. The focus is the visual and comparative documentation of the development of agriculture and mobility, mountain photography with special attention to the Dolomites and the visual history of the “Standschützen” in the Dolomites War 1915–1917. Another focus is collecting photography as art.
TAP – Süd acts as a competence center and competence network for the archiving of analogue and digital photography and the quality assurance of its originality, it works in further training and creates handouts on the correct handling of photographs
